The Pilates method develops proper alignment with a focus on core strength to enable the correct position of the pelvis and spine. It's progressive approach from the core outward moves and strengthens all the muscles of the body to support healthy joints, muscle flexibility, circulation, breathing and organ function.

Through the Pilates method we strive to open up the mind-body connection. Not only should the mind be able to tell the body what to do, mind should also be receptive to the messages body sends. Pain is a signal that the position the body is operating in is incorrect, causng inefficient movement patterns. Our objective is to move pain free. Understanding optimal anatomical alignment and retraining the muscles to achieve that is key. 

The human body is all too good at compensating to make up for imbalances. Whether those are due to sitting at a desk for many hours, practicing a hobby that favors one side of the body more than the other, or injuries, "Pilates" corrects imbalance by strengthening both sides equally using specific exercises and equipment that improve symmetry. Symmetry = balance = the ideal you.

Stephanie Vovou completed her Classical Certification in 2006 at Power Pilates New York under the teachings of Master Trainers Bob Leikens and Susan Moran. She has an extensive background in many disciplines of movement including Dance, Acrobatics and Martial arts. She has a keen eye for alignment and experience working with clients who are pregnant, injured or suffering from chronic ailments. She specializes in bringing the Client’s attention to detail and alignment while still maintaining a hardy workout.  Stephanie has developed “Efficient Movement Pattern Reprogramming Operation,” a method with which she assists clients to enhance their mind-body connection, re-educates them toward anatomically correct alignment, and prompts them to consciously access connections to their muscles in order to move as efficiently as possible.  Upon request, Stephanie also peforms energy healing work.
